English as a First Language is designed for learners whose first language is English. It enables learners to develop the ability to communicate accurately and effectively in both speech and writing. Students learn a wide-ranging vocabulary, correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation, and develop a personal style and an awareness of the audience being addressed.

Chinese as a First Language enables students to communicate accurately, appropriately, and effectively in writing. The course develops the students' comprehension, inference, and analytical skills. It also promotes the students' knowledge of how to use and enjoy the Chinese language.

English as a Second Language is designed for learners who already have a working knowledge of the language and want to consolidate their understanding and gain a higher level of proficiency. The course reflects the widespread use of English in education, commerce, and entertainment.

Chinese as a Second Language is designed for learners with a working language knowledge who want to enhance their educational or employment prospects. The students understand social registers and styles and learn to communicate appropriately and practically.

Chinese as a Foreign Language is based on the related language skills of listening, reading, speaking, and writing. These skills are developed as the students make progress. Chinese is spoken in class, encouraging positive attitudes towards language learning and other cultures and civilisations.

Economics courses help students to develop an understanding of economic terminology and principles and basic economic theory. Learners study the economics of developed and developing nations and how these interrelate. They also learn to handle simple data and undertake economic analysis, evaluate information, and differentiate between facts and value judgments in economic issues.

Geography courses enable learners to develop a “sense of place” by looking at the world around them on a local, regional, and global scale. Students examine a range of natural and man-made environments and study processes affecting people's lives.

History courses examine major international issues of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and cover the history of particular regions in greater depth. Emphasis is placed on acquiring knowledge and research skills.

Biology courses emphasise human biology and help students to have an informed interest in science and scientific developments, including technology. The courses involve both theoretical and practical studies.

Chemistry courses enable students to understand the technological world in which they live and to have an informed interest in science and scientific developments. Students understand the principles of chemistry through theoretical and practical studies.

Physics courses help students to understand the technological world in which they live and have an informed interest in science and scientific developments. Students learn about physics principles through a combination of theoretical and practical studies.

International Mathematics reflects the way today's learners like to learn. Students gain a solid foundation of mathematical skills and learn how to develop strategies for solving open-ended problems. This enables students to hone their analytical skills.

Art and Design courses encourage a personal response by stimulating the imagination, sensitivity, conceptual thinking, powers of observation, and analytical ability. Students also learn how to develop ideas from initial attempts to final solutions.

Music courses encourage students to listen to, perform, and compose music. This encourages aesthetic and emotional development, self‐discipline, and, most importantly, creativity. As a result, students enhance their appreciation of music and gain a foundation for future study and life-long enjoyment of music.

Drama courses involve practical and theoretical study, where learners develop an understanding and enjoyment of drama. Students hone group and individual skills while portraying feelings and emotions to an audience. 

Physical education allows students to learn both the practical and theoretical aspects of physical education.

Information and Communication Technology courses focus on the ability to use common software applications and combine theoretical and practical studies. Students develop a greater awareness of the impact of information technology on the workplace, society, and global effects.

Design and Technology courses enable students to identify, evaluate, and solve problems through creative thinking, planning, and design, working with various materials and media.

Business Studies courses help students understand business activities in the public and private sectors and the importance of innovation and change.
