In collaboration with Primary and Secondary Schools, Music Division, Christian and Community Development Division, the Fellows-in-Residence Division (FIR) conducts the annual Christmas Pageant that features the Year 1 in the Living Nativity, scripture readers from Year 12, along with musicians from Years 5-12 and song leaders from year 8.
The annual Christmas Pageant is an FIR initiative that was started in 2018 and was brought about by the need to have a faith-based Christmas celebration. A Christmas pageant or nativity play is an important aspect of the Christian celebration of Christmas and relays the events leading up to the birth of Jesus. Through scripture reading, worship music and congregational hymns, the story is brought to life by the Year 1 students playing the different characters of the story.
Officiated by CCDD Head Mr Steve Hackman, this year's Pageant will be offered as a pre-recorded streaming event to bring the message of Christ's birth to everyone in the YCIS community with details to watch below:
