    Remarkable results for the YCIS’s IGCSE Class of 2022

    • 3 of 15 top scorers has earned straight 10A*s

      (Hong Kong – 19 August 2022) Yew Chung International School of Hong Kong (YCIS Hong Kong) is delighted to announce outstanding achievements in this year’s International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) results. Despite the uncertainty brought by the pandemic, students of YCIS showcased extraordinary adaptability and resilience.

       

      The School expresses its heartfelt congratulations to their Year 11 students for their IGCSE results (June 2022 series), which were announced on 18 August. A total of 15 students received 10 A’s (A* and A). Three students achieved straight 10A*s among these top-notch students. Another 27 students obtained 9 or more A* or A’s while other YCIS students also received encouraging results in the IGCSE exams.

       

      Among the 148 students who registered for the exams, 87% were awarded a distinction or merit.

       

      In the exams held in May and June 2022:

      • 15 students received 10 A’s (A* and A) with 3 students achieving straight A*s
      • 27 students obtained 9 A’s (A* and A);

       

      The achievements of the 2022 cohort are highlighted below:

      • of Year 11 students who sat for the IGCSE exams: 148
      • of Distinction awards: 73
      • of Merit awards: 56
      • Percentage of A*- A grades = 49 % of all subjects taken
      • Percentage of A* - C grades = 87 % of all subjects taken

I want to express my gratitude to the academic team. Their flexible teaching approaches help students keep learning in virtual and blended teaching and learning and prepare for exams, once again achieving good results.” said Mr Martin Scott, Education Director and Executive Principal at YCIS Hong Kong.
